I have downloaded Translator Free, in the hopes of translating .sf2's to Roland .out files (or whatever it needs to be).? I know Translator's S-7xx support has been a mythical unicorn, so does it still not work?? If not, is there any way to setup a patch/performance/etc.. on the computer (perhaps as a .sf2) and translate any other way? I love the sound of the sampler, but sheesh!? PLEASE NOTE:? (Ah, gotta love that Internet.) >so does it still not work? It's always worked. Most importantly, it works right now. Why don't you try it in Translator Free? You can do one conversion. Plus, you are always free to contact Chicken Systems and ask them. I'm sure they'd either like to know if it doesn't work, or they would give you the direct answer. Have you done this? ->S-7x support has been in Translator Windows for many years. Translator Mac is just getting it (I think it's in now, just waiting for the next build release). I just tried a couple SoundFonts, converting to S-7x ZipDisk. Works great, loads into the S-7x fine, sounds great. You may also be interested in Chicken Systems Constructor, available in both Mac and Windows flavors. You can build Instruments from scratch on your computer. Once you are done, you can save it to a S-7x media, either a SCSI hard drive, ZipDisk, or a Virtual Drive that you can burn to a CD, and have the S-7x read it. ->S-7x is not in Constructor currently (many other formats are), but it's going in this week. While I'm at it, there is now Instrument Manager, a new program from Chicken Systems that can archive and manage all your Instruments, of any format, whether it be S-7x, Kontakt, Giga, or anything. Database the Instruments and add tags or any other search criteria. It's sort of like iTunes for Sampler Instruments. Then you may need to burn an actual CD and read into the sampler via SCSI? Maybe you can make a drive and copy to the ZIP. I used to copy files one by one with Soundforge or Recycle via Midi SDS, which was slow, but worked. No real need to - you skip the Virtual Drive part and write directly to the Zip. Translator can read and write a Roland-formatted ZipDisk. Assuming you made the disk correctly, I'd guess you just put in and turn on the power. That how it works on the s750, s770 etc. If that isn't working, I'd guess the disk was not made correctly. So my question goes to the following: I have read something about to import W30 Disks into S760. Will this functionality only supports the Waves of W30, or is it possible to import the completely Patches with all parameters? Other Question goes to the SCSII Drive: I have a 2160 MB Drive. Is there a chance, to use the rest of the MBs, or is it just the way, to use the first 600 MB and no else? I can only speak for S-330, but I guess w30 is pretty much the same. Yes, it does import the parameters too. Keep your W30 at least until you have all your disks converted, so if in doubt you can compare. Ingo
