At last - I´ve made it.
My problem was this; I didn´t understand that the S-550 system disk had
to be in the sampler in order to gain access to the correct menu!
I always had the S-50 disk in the S-550 sampler when trying to convert
and/or load.
Simple - but yet so difficult!
1. Start the S-550 using the CD-5 system disk
2. Menu "disk", and choose "convert" with the system disk still inside.
3. After a while, the options apprear
4. Choose Load -> S-50 (or Convert -> S50)
Execute!
Then you can save the contents of the memory in the standard way to a
S-550 floppy.
Thanks for all the help.

What do you mean?
Termination does not need to be recognized and needs no ID ...
- you just need proper termination;-)

Hi Peter,
MESA: File format for the Akai S3000, separate files for the programs
(.s3p) and the samples.
To get samples in to your computer is easy. On Mac (which is what I
use), I open CDXtract.
I then insert the Roland CD-ROM, and when the Mac gives me an alert,
I choose <ignore>
I then select <Search for sampler discs> in CDXtract, and it finds
the CD, and displays all the data on the CD. It's then just a matter
of choosing what you want to convert.
You can also create new multi-layered programs, combine programs with
crossfades or velocity switches and preview samples directly in the
app.
I think there's a demo which you can test for yourself...

Hey guys
Everytime I boot up my SCSI HD connected to my S-760 it always stop
during one of the ID detection and never completes the boot process.
Whether it's the SCSI Maxor, WD or whatever.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Dave
Hello,
Does anyone knows if it is possible to control the front panel buttons or the mouse clics & movements of the Roland s760 with MIDI?
I mean: like using a rc-100 remote but with Midi instead. What kind of information does the rc-100 transmit using its specific cable? Midi?
I heard that the s330 transmits midi sysex informations while it is controlled by the mouse and is able to receive this midi back & recognize it (i haven't got a s330 myself to try it though), so maybe there's an hidden sysex implementation of these controls in the s760 too?
I tried looking at the s760 sysex documentation (thanks again to Ingo) & didn't found anything, but maybe i'm just blind...
...any idea?
