hello I have read that when an improper mouse has been plugged in that it can cause the mouse port on the Roland SXXX to fail or no longer work properly. Is there an easy way to fix this issue ?
I've posted this up on the yahoo group, but i'll run it again here.....
I've contacted a tech with regards to wiring up a lead for my S760 to
come out
from to RGB socket and then to go to a SCART socket.....
This is all really above my head, but my tech is asking questions with
regards
to SYNC lines..... as i said it means nothing to me, but i did show
them the
S760 monitor page in my manual, and also the very useful S760 webpage-
monitor
link.... http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/clouzeau/s760/monitor.htm
My tech is asking:
"The main question would be, what to do about the VSYNC and HSYNC lines
with regards to SCART. It expects a combined composite sync.
Really it's just the working pinouts that we need.
I've had a look on that S760 monitor page, but there's no definite
information
regarding SCART. TTL is also 5v digital. SCART is 1v p2p."
This means nothing to me.... but can someone please help out if they
know the
info needed?
Its just to wire an RGB lead to SCART socket for the S760..
Hello List,
I just recently joined, and appreciate the presence of this list and the
archives so much.
I started into the Roland sampler world with a 2nd-hand S-750 two years
ago. Later I picked up an S-760. Last week I found a DJ-70mkii.
If anyone can help me get the operating system upgraded on the DJ-70mkii,
I would be very grateful. I saw on the net that the DJ-70 could boot from
an updated operating system if you had the proper boot floppy in the drive
on power-up. I can't find any such floppy anywhere. Haven't called
Roland US to see if they have the EPROMs in stock still, would that be
worth a shot? I currently have v1.00 of the OS, and it seems like it can
read Zip and Jaz drives fine, but I'm kinda scared of getting too
comfortable and then losing some work.
Thanks
Tim
Hi everyone,
I've recently purchased an old roland S-10 sampler and found that it's
rom version it's 1.07. It seems not to support sysex so I really need to
upgrade it to a newer version.
Do you guys know where can I find either:
1) EPROM upgrade to purchase
2) EPROM binary files of the operating system of the S-10, for me to
burn a new eprom?
Thanks in advance,
Hello!
I have ordered the SCSI upgrade for my W-30. Any suggestions on where to
source the right type of external scsi cdrom unit and external scsi hard
drive that will work with the W-30?
Cheers!
Damian.
Hi Peter,
where can i find the Schematic? On your webseite?

I have a s-330 that I had removed the drive from for another this unit is taken apart and I will put it back together somewhat if needed but if you need parts everything worked 100% before I took out the drive. Free to a good home. My zip code is 33701 buyer only needs to pay for shipping.

p.s. I also have the systems disk.
I am curious if one might be able to install a zip drive, or compact flash type reader/writer into the S-550.
Has anyone tried to install anything other than the standard floppy drive into a S-550, might it be possible?
Also, anyone know about the sequencer software, and dongle for the S-series units. I believe they are labeled for use with their intended sampler model, but could, and or is the software, and dongles interchangeable with other models?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
Hello, anyone have a line on where I can get a new belt? I attached a pic of the Quick Disk drive removed from the synth. You can see it wraps around the small brass gear to the large plastic gear. I'm assuming any belt will do as long as its a "belt" and not a rubber band and its the correct tension and length. If anyone has any info where I can get one or two or three, that would be great! Thank you.

The sequencer package comes in two models: SYS-333 and SYS-553. That is
both software and dongle are model specific. You can't actually use SYS-333
with an S-550 sampler.
I learned this the hard way. I bought the SYS-333 on eBay and tried to use
the dongle with a copy of 553 software. All I got is an error message
stating incorect dongle.
The sequencer package is a fine piece of software. It allows you to create
a sequence and embed sample within it. You can then share your sequence
disks with other S-sampler owners. The dongle is only needed for write
operations, not for reading.
Hope that helps,
Jean-Robert
