Hello. I accidentally formatted my floppy disk with the factory samples of
the Roland S550. I would like to have them back. Where can I download to
record to the floppy again.
Thank you in advance

Greeting to one & all,,
I am simply thrilled to have found this URL once again since the last
century. I still have my original 1987 S50. 'She's been in her flightcase
for too long. Now I have a Gotec emulator & need to learn how to get it to
work w/ the s50. I know a lot about PCs, ok a little more than most. I
don;t have a floppy disk in my Win 7.1 Pro server. BUMMER i know for this
attempt. I do have a USB floppy drive and 100's of disks for both my S50 &
Korg I 30. Now to take a break, rest my weary eyes & then go read
what'shere online. If nothing else, using the S 50 should take me back to
my younger days. LOL
At 70 i am afraid i am not as quick a learner as i once was. At least i
am going to try.
Funny, or is it, I have a Yamaha MU-128 & 3 Emu rack mounts that i hardly
use--I wonder why I'm spending the time & $ to retrofit my S50. ??
well i guess it will keep me off the streets at night. ;)
Take care & God bless,
Don

Hi all,
Relative newcomer to S-series samplers, since I've only had mine for about 10 years. But I'm wondering if someboy out there has any tips on the following...
Sometimes I really like the way a sample sounds when I play it back inside the Loop&Smoothing view... but then when I put the same sample in a Performance, Patch, and Partial, it plays back totally different.
Does anybody have any tips on how I could set up a performance, patch, or partial to play back a sample as similar to Loop&Smoothing playback as possible?
Some of the parameters I'm thinking would probably come into play are: Original Key, Attack/Decay/Sustain/Release, the filter, One-Shot / mono / poly, Tuning...and then knowing at which level (patch/partial/performance) these would best be set at...
Thanks
Tim

Yep! I did it.

Yes; the reason it uses the generic term "image" is because often these can have different extensions based on the whim of the person using SDISK (the program that made these). And actually the NI page says .out (to the right).
I should mention I know this because I wrote the code that Kontakt uses, and mostly wrote that web page. I am the point person for any issues regarding this, let me know if there is something you don't understand or need quesitons answered.
