I just recently purchased my Roland S770 Sampler and
LOVE it. However I
have been searching for a mouse ever since. I read that the Roland S770
uses an MSX compatible mouse. After alot of searching I found a NEOS MS-10
MSX mouse on ebay and purchased it. When I plug it in and activate the
mouse the cursor just darts to the bottom right and I can't do anything with
the mouse. The right button will scroll through the jump menu though. I
looked further in the S770 manual and noticed the it says it is compatible
with the S550 mice, but nothing else.
Is my problem an incompatible mouse or a BAD mouse port on my sampler?
Just a word of warning:
I have used a Roland S550 for many years. I was told a similar story
about mouse compatibility. I plugged in a different (supposedly
compatible) mouse and it burnt out part of the circuitry. Now I can't
use *ANY* mouse at all and just use the front panel buttons (= pain
in the butt).
The wiring on the Roland mouse in unique and any other mouse can
cause harm (as above).
