Ingo,
Would it be possible to make a converter cable that would plug into
the S-330 and the other end of the cable would be USB to plug-in a
regular USB mouse? Was there a good reason why Roland designed it this
way, or was it to sell a propriety mouse?
Best regards,
David

hello I

Sadly that happened to me.
I plugged a "normal" mouse into my S550 and it fried whatever
component deals with the mouse. I now have to use the front panel
buttons.
I don't know of a fix for this - if you hear of anything, please
let me know....
On the S-330, pin 5 of the ext control jack is connected to +5V via
a fuse resistor. Don't know for the S-550, but since it's the same
mouse, it's probably just the same here. You could check the voltage
on pin 5 (pin 9 is ground) with a voltmeter. If there's no voltage
present, most probably the fuse resistor is blown. The schematic
says it's value is 0.15 ohms.
