Hi Garth
I checked my site and it seems not always work well: I dont know why.
Anyway, the direct link is:
(I added the source file to the Zip)
I also made bug report with examples few months ago (B.R. 2586/2610).
After few attempts, I decided to try myself and I found the pbm with a hexa
editor and a lot of tests.
Hope it will help you to track the bug.

Note: Translator is a great tool and the free version is a nice idea for
amateur musicians like me.

Pardon for the location as it may be far away from most of you, but
yousendshit.com requires a login of some sort, and this doesn't.
Let's hope it works.

I'm pretty sure if you sample a snare hit or a note, artists don't consider
it infringement. When you sample part of a song, that's when they start
getting unhappy if you haven't asked permission. Or let's say a guitar
lick
or a obvious drum fill, that's when they start frowning. By all means, ask
permission from Zildjian to use the existing samples, you never know, they
might say yes.

No probably not, but when you systematically download 37 sounds and make
them into a sampler-standard and upload that to the internet, they might
consider it something else than casual lending of a sound. But anyway,
for uncommercial use, I use whatever. If I some day become rich with my
music, I'll just buy one of each of those cymbals and use as frisbees.

It was fixed a long time ago, we just don't reply to any or every

I guess those guys must be REALLY busy updating

Isn't Garth still on this list?
Still here. WAV->S-7x has been supported and workable in Translator
for a long time.

Say, has anybody gone over to the Zildjian web
site and 'borrowed' some
of the samples they have for their cymbals? They've got multiple
samples for just about all of their cymbals, and some of them,
especially the Chinas, are unbelievable!
It shouldn't be much trouble to convert them from mp3 to wav and load
them into a sampler that supports wav format. Does Chickensys or any
translation software finally allow you to load wav files into the Roland
samplers?
Yes, Translator has done this for a long time.

Unfortunately there seem to be other serious bugs
in Translator. One big
one is, that it sometimes do not compute the beginning and ending of
sample(wave)data correctly,
leading so something like this here:
http://home.arcor.de/tonmann/pic.png
Now since it's the "real data" the is ripped wrong, JMD's program has
of
course no chance to fix the loop-points.
What a pity! Where are so close to have a real working solution.
Hey Chickensys, you should hire JMD. He just casually wrote a small tool
that fixes what you guys couldn't fix for quite a long time now. And he
did not have all the internal specs I suppose...
His page showed Error 500 for me; however, we make Virtual Drive's
for S-7x all the time and it's worked for a long time. I don't know
what bug you are referring to; if there was one, it was fixed a long time
ago.
As we say many times, if you find a bug, just let us know by filling
out a Bug Report
www.chickensys.com/translator/bugreports and give an
example. We'll be right on it and fix it ASAP and put up a public or
private build ASAP. We always do that; it's strange to hear reports
that a bug is persistent.
If in doubt, just contact us.

This is not true, Garth!
I still have the dozen of emails here in my archive of the conversation
we both had after I had posted a detailed bugreport on your bugtracker,
including screenshots, byte-offsets of the wrong data in the image file,
etc... This was with version build 104. You told me that you have no
chance to test if on a real S-760 yourself since the display has died
and you need to.
I just checked the archive. The first mail-contact I had with you was on
11/08/2004. In that email I already described the problem detailed (that
days build 64).
However, it still does not work for me, even with build 108 it' still
exactly the same: The S-760 seems to load "empty" samples. So where is
this bug "fixed a long time ago"?
cheers,
Chris
