PC mouses use completely different protocol and pin assignments, but any
MSX mouse should indeed work. Rolands mouse is a rebadged Philips MSX
mouse. PC mouse adapter can be built, however, there are schematics and
code for one here: http://www.msxpro.com/ps2_msx.html

Many years ago, I tried a Microsoft mouse and blew the circuit board in my S550. To this
day, I am unable to use a mouse at all and have to use the front panel controls.
