andy,
I have in the past set up an autoload VOL, so I'll keep working with it and the A80
to see what I'm missing.

Does anyone have an A-80 set up to use with their

I just got an A-80 and its been years since i've used my 760 and other midi gear and
so I dont understand everything like I want to.
I'd like to be able to change s760 performances from the A80. Say i load in a
volume and go to performance mode. All of the performances are on their own midi chan, or
i can step through them with the mouse on the 1st chan. Can I somehow do that from the
A80?
I once owned an A80, but that's long ago so my memory is a little vague.
The A80 of course can send MIDI Program Change messages. AFAIR it cannot send Bank Select
messages.
I used Program Change messages to make the S-760 load volumes from disk (ZIP drive in my
case). This worked very well.
I had a MIDI patchbay that sent out Program Change messages to my S-760 to change the
Performances and it worked fine with the 20 or so Performances I'd made. The
Performances were stored on a Volume (like a partition) that resided on an external SCSI
hard drive, and you could configure the S-760 to auto-load a specific volume for you when
your S-760 first started up. Very handy for live work. Should have an explanation of how
to do all this in the S-760 Manual.
