If you have NO display it will be impossible to know where the cursor
defaults to which could make this impossible to do since LCD contrast
has 100 options (50 up and 50 down)
Get your monitor hooked up if it isn't already. Power down the 760 then
power up holding the MODE button down. When it powers up it will take
you to one of the menus... SCSI, BOOT, CNTLR (the one you want) or LCD
contrast. Turn your data entry knob one click to the right, then press
EXIT to boot up off your system. If it doesn't work, power down and the
next time turn it one more click to the right and press exit to boot.
Do this 8 times for each menu. On the 9th time, power up holding MODE
then use your up arrow and hit it one time, then repeat the process 8
times as before.
I'm betting you'll get in an hour if you're lucky!

Hi!
I have an S-760 with a bad internal LCD panel (not the backlight, the
LCD itself) - No information displays to the LCD at all.
Can someone tell me the exact series of steps (button presses)
to put the unit back into the mode that allows the use of an external
COMPOSITE monitor?
I'll be doing it blindly, so I'll need something that reads like:
"Press the 'down' button 3 times, then press the 'inc' button
".
I've tried a lot of combinations, to no avail. The problem is that
this menu is NOT shown in ANY of the available documentation, so I'm
stuck, and I can't use my sampler.
If someone could reply to this, I'd be very appreciative. It should
only take 30 seconds or so.
My S-760 has become a glorified paperweight because of this problem. I
REALLY need someone to help out!
Thanks in advance!
