Hi Jasper, I don't know if there is a preferred choice of monitor but most monitors that can accept digital TTL levels and sync down to 15kHz should work with a bit of persuasion. I managed to get my S-550 to drive an old NEC Multisync3D VGA monitor by wiring a pair of transistors in the cable to invert the hsync and vsync signals similar to the way the Roland RGB25i cable worked (there is a schematic of the RGB25i cable on the S-760 site http:// s760.us.tt/ under accessories->monitors). I can provide a wiring diagram for my home-made version if you are interested (or if anyone else is).
