Some companies developed license statements which do
not
match with local laws or maybe even world wide human rights.
One of those questionable statements is "no right to resell".
In Germany you may find companies trading used software, and
nothing else.
There had been a quite complicated article in one of the
computer magazines on the legal situation doing so.
Overregulation may stop live.
This is certainly an interesting topic. There is however perhaps some
difference between software and samples. Samples are in fact audio
recordings and are therefore protected by International Copyright
Law, the Berne Convention, etc. I don't have time now but one could
look at CISAC's website or BIEM for info on this....
