Hi folks, Oh well... first results are negative. The JS30 knows there's something there, it's reporting an unformatted drive on the correct ID, however if you try adn format it you get an error 27.....Illegal Request.... I'll see if I can borrow an IDE flash drive from work and play with that.... I can get those for peanuts from an industrial computer supplier so if that works I'll be away. I did try all the possible combinations of parity adn block size jumpers adn also swapped out the active terminator on board on a jumper for a passive off-board one. Also the PSU arrangements are a bit Heath Robinson ATM with the guts of an old 486 sprawled everywhere so I could get to both its floppy power connectors (one for the SCSI-IDE one for the IDE-CF)..... chrisc
