This is not true, Garth!
I still have the dozen of emails here in my archive of the conversation
we both had after I had posted a detailed bugreport on your bugtracker,
including screenshots, byte-offsets of the wrong data in the image file,
etc... This was with version build 104. You told me that you have no
chance to test if on a real S-760 yourself since the display has died
and you need to.
I just checked the archive. The first mail-contact I had with you was on
11/08/2004. In that email I already described the problem detailed (that
days build 64).
The only things we pay attention to as far as records go are the Bug
Reports; you're talking about emails.
It's always a rock and a hard place regarding personal communication
and Bug Reports; we like helping people personally and some people
really prefer it; however, the only way to keep organized records is
to have an organized system (Bug Reports). Most of the time we
immediately forward people to fill out a bug report, or offer to fill
it out for them. Some people get bothered at being asked to do this
(they feel we are passing the buck or ignoring their issue), so
sometimes we don't advise this. Really, we should always advise this
to be consistent.
Anyway, the manual advises to report through BugReports and we try to
refer people to this as much as possible. I'm sorry we didn't advise
you to do this back then.
However, it still does not work for me, even with
build 108 it' still
exactly the same: The S-760 seems to load "empty" samples. So where is
this bug "fixed a long time ago"?
Well, lets start on the right foot this time - fill out a Bug Report
www.chickensys.com/translator/bugreports and we'll start checking on
this specific thing. From memory (never a good thing) I am 99.99%
sure this was addressed. If there's an issue, Bug Reports is the best
place to start; you can always email us or call us, but when it
revolves around a Bug Report it something we can always refer back to.
