i think stefano daino's program dsp-quattro still
supports roland conversions if i'm not mistaken.
i haven't looked at it in years, but i know he still
updates it - in fact it's gotten some good reviews
as an inexpensive mac audio editor app. might be
worth checking out. i used the earlier version of it
(os 9) called d-sound-pro and it worked fine for
transfers from my s550.

Mac's just won't properly deal with floppy disks. The only things
close to working that I've seen are:
1) Using a USB Floppy and for some reason Kontakt 2 (or Translator or
CDX) will see that as a drive. Most of the time this does not happen.
2) Does SMac allow creating an image? If so, make one, and then put
that image file (give it a .img, .nrg, .iso, .dmg, or .toast
extension) in a folder called Images in the Native Instruments folder
in Application Support in Library. Kontakt 2 may see it then. If not,
please email me the image at this email at support(a)chickensys.com.
Why don't you find a PC somewhere (they are everywhere), and use the
SDisk utility to make images of your S-7x floppies, move them to the
Mac, and put them in the Images folder as described above? Most
libraries have PC's available. You can download SDisk from
www.rolandsamplers.org - the Download area. Download the Win98 boot
disk for it, since SDisk does not run in XP, you need to boot up with
the boot floppy to get things to work.
I wrote the conversion routines in Kontakt 2 and deliberately included
support for all types of Roland S-50/550/7x formats, including floppy
images. If you find ones that don't work or exhibit problems, let me
know.
