hi jesse
well, to read roland samples i think stefano daino's dsp quattro still
supports that on the mac. for interfaces (again, mac) i use an m-audio
fw410 for live stuff, and either a digidesign mbox or digi002 rack in
my studio (pro tools.) for software, i'm a native instruments guy
(caveat:
i sort of work for them, in an unpaid kind of way.) kontakt is pretty
neat,
and on the pc side there are numerous similar programs i'm sure. most
of them will load akai samples, some roland, you'll have to check since
i don't track that kind of stuff. the transition from hardware to
software
can be painful, but rewarding. keep telling yourself that.
