I have some old S-50 disks that I want to read.
I have tried to read it in using all the floppy manu
options, and I
have also tried the "convertion" menu option under the Utilities
menu.
Each time I get one of two responses:
a. Nothing; the S-550 just drops back to the meny after a second or
two, or most usually;
b. It starts reading the disk, display (correctly) "S-50 version 2",
and answers with "please insert S-550 disk"
I of course try to insert the S-550 system disk, but nothing happens.
I have tried all kinds of tricks to make it read the S-50 disk, but
so far, no luck at all.
In Utility mode, you can <Convert Load> the S-50 disk
This just loads the data into Bank I or Bank II
(The sounds may be slightly different as the S-50 has different parameters)
You can also <Convert Disk> which is permanent
Take your S-50 disk and set the protect tab to write
Select "Conv -> S550" and hit Execute
