Yes,there could be a problem with the panel as when I received the S550
the volume knob had come off, indicating it may have taken a hit on the
front
in the post, although the panel does occasionally light up the odd
character sometimes
when its turned on.I have a compatible composite monitor but all I get
is a
blank screen,I also have the original system disks in the wallet and a
mouse.
Also shouldn't the floppy drive click until it gets a disk? as I have
a DJ-70 and
that does until it gets a floppy.

Re your question:
Yes, you should have a MIDI keyboard or sequencer program attached
(or both) in order to trigger the samples in each patch.

Hello everyone, this is my first post so please bear with me.I
purchased a S550
from ebay a couple of weeks ago with library and mouse.Unfortunatly
when I turned it on
all it does is flash all of its LEDs constantly, the floppy light is
permantly on and the display is blank.
Has anybody got any idea what is wrong with it,someone suggested the
RAM may have become unseated
but I opened it up and everything looks soldered to the
motherboard.Any help will be greatly
appreciated as this is most frustrating! Thanks,Jason
Hi All,
Aside from my S-760 I also have a Roland PMA-5, but I'd really like to get a copy of the Macintosh application that allows conversion of GM files to the PMA format (and I presume there may be a driver that goes with it?)
Does anyone have this program and driver? Needless to say, I've asked Roland and they refuse to put it on their download page because it will only run under Mac OS 7 (which I still use on my old laptops for sequencing.)
While we're on the topic, I'm also looking for Master Tracks Pro version 6.0 for Mac.
Jeff
To whom it may concern, Yes I have DJ, I got this alias trying to get information on the s series samples I want to make some disk for them but I am having some problems SDisk won't read or write anything in the old XP box I'm using also I don't understand how to format the disk to a roland sample disk what are the specifications to make a roland sample disk I don't understand. Hi Folks,
i have two Chips to offer, which could be used to update a W30 to KW30.
I have tested the Chips with my own W30, and the are working ok.
To Update a W30, there is just one Chip needed, so two W30 Users can have the Update for their W30 :-)
The Price is 20 Euros for one Chip, plus shipping from Germany. Inside Germany this will be 3,90 euros.
If desired, we can do the transaction via Ebay / Paypal.
Yours sincerely,
Oliver from Germany
Hello @ all,
thank you for the Help, i recieved a Mail from tim, who suggests, if the cable will be plugged in in the right way.
So, the cabels (MIDI In / OUT ; WamiRack and Synths) working well with EMU Morpheus and Roland U220, and the S760 is plugged in the same way. This could not be the reason.
Thank you Ingo for the Idea with MIDI-Monitor in S760, that is a point i will look at on Weekend, there will be a little time to try this.
Have a nice Weekend,
Oliver from Germany

Hello @ all,
thank you for your help, i have found why my import was not succesfull from w30 to s760, so now it is working like i expected it :-)
So now here is my question regarding Sounddiver (V3.054) and S760 (V 2.24) communication:
My Hardware-config is like this:
PC (WinXP), EgoSys WamiRack24, S760.
Sounddiver is working well under XP, and two other Synths (Emu Morpheus / Roland U220) are running good with Sounddiver/WamiRack24.
Just the S760 has got the prob, that it will not communicate with Sounddiver.
That means: It is not found with the "Scanning"-Function. When i setup this "Manually", then S760 has a little "flashing" with the MIDI-LED, but Sounddiver told me "Machine is not Plugged / is not found".
Device-ID is checked, SysexData will be recognized, MIDI-Chanel is checked, cable is ok.
Has anybody an Idea, how to get S760 running with Sounddiver? Have i forgot to look in a specialy Parameter in S760 or Sounddiver?
Thank you for yor Help,
Oliver from Germany

Hi Folks,
I pushed up my machinepark with a S760 sampler, with 32mb and OP-760, running OS V2.24
My old W30 goes now in retirement pension.
So my question goes to the following: I have read something about to import W30 Disks into S760.
Will this functionality only supports the Waves of W30, or is it possible to import the completely Patches with all parameters?
Other Question goes to the SCSII Drive:
I have a 2160 MB Drive. Is there a chance, to use the rest of the MBs, or is it just the way, to use the first 600 MB and no else?
Thanx for your comments,
with regards
