It shouldn't matter these days.

I think these are all hidden from me, since the S550 can't even communicate with the drives.

We have plenty here, but I think the main problem is the SCSI interface maybe funky in some way.

Are you trying to convert S550 stuff into other formats? It should work. If not, send the S550 files in question.

Right, I'm using a monitor.

Hello,
just saw that this USB Drive
USB FAT32 720KB SSD Floppy Drive Emulator For Machine Control
http://r.ebay.com/IzmFyK
was successfully used to replace the floppy drive in Yamaha SY99
synthesizers.
A handmade cable adapter was necessary though.
I wonder if anyone tried to use this to replace the floppy drive in a
Roland S330 or S550.
Thanks,
Franz
Hi list,
Any advice on repairing my qd drive?
The disks when inserted, i hear the drive make a constant noise but the actual qd does not get latched and i dont hear it spin, any advice to allow me to get her back up and running?
Thanks
I've noticed that finding S-500 rack units with SCSI is very difficult. Can any SCSI boards be found? If not, are there any thoughts of having one built, and if so is there anyone willing to aprt with there's for a certain period of time to get it copied?

I went zip with my EMU Ultra.
You can get 2 (they are pretty cheap on ebay) just one scsi and one USB or
even parallel (if you system has a parallel port on it) Then I just swap
sounds via a zip disk to the internal HD of the Ultra. (I know it's not a
Roland but same concept) I'm sure whatever PC you are using will have a USB
port. Or you can share it via a network share.

Good luck,

Hi all!
S-330 with BMC Data Display green-screen monitor and new in box serial mouse.
Also a breadboarded converter to allow using PS2 mice, tested and works.
$200/obo + ship
Would prefer not to split bundle, but will if need be.
DIRECTOR-S SYS 333 sequencer package OS that allows s330 or s550 to
become a sequencing workstation. In all original packaging, with
dongle and manual.
Uncertain how to price SYS333, but from what I can see, they're pretty
hard to come by and radically enhance the S330s functionality.
Consensus on a fair price? If anyone can determine it absent realtime
market forces, I figure Sgroup is it.
Plenty of sauce:

Thanks in advance.
