Novice:
Would anyone know how I can setup two S760's to
load
the system software from one hard drive? I've been
trying to picture the SCSI chain, but am not sure how
I would do this while connecting a laptop to both
S760's.
Well, for starters you have no choice but to put an S-760 at each end
of the SCSI chain, because they only have one SCSI connecter each.
Then, assuming the drive is in an external enclosure, that will
go between the two of them. You are aware that the S-760 uses its
own format on the hard drive? That is, you can't just share the drive
with Windows or Mac OS.
Everything must have different SCSI IDs, so set the SCSI IDs on
your samplers before they are connected in the same SCSI chain.
Make sure you never get into a situation where both S-760s attempt
to write to the drive at the same time. In fact, I'd probably even
avoid writing to the drive altogether while both S-760s are running,
just to be paranoid.
Cheers,
