Did this ever work? I remember they announced some kind of translation
support for S-7XX but the last I knew it still wasn't available. So
Chickensys will allow you to create a Roland format CD from an Akai format
or better, from a CD of wav. Samples?

Sorry, it was not my intention to break any laws.
It is true that some of the soundware is impossible to find these days
though.
I have seen many other synths where their patches
become 'public
domain' after 15 years on the market.
When you just can't find those sounds anymore and the creator is not
selling them anymore.
I find Roland S-7x CD's very easily - EatWest and QUpArts have them
still for sale on their sites. Roland I believe still sells their CD's.
Sure, it's a little harder find the sounds, but the good news is that
they are less expensive. Additionally (company plug here) you can use
Translator
www.chickensys.com to convert into Roland S-7x format from
any other format, so you aren't necessarily tied into just Roland
format.
