With Halion, can you use patch changes to load the equivalent of a
s7xxx performance?
For example, I have a drum kit as a performance in the s760, and a
patch change switches it all to a different drum set.
Easy in Halion?

some list activity. What are you using your sampler for?
I haven't been using my S760s (2) for a while. I have Halion 3, a
software sampler which is super simple to use, quite powerful.
I am not sure what I want to do with my 760s. I had a SCSI Zip Drive
which is now dead. I think if I could find a SCSI HD which would
communicate with the S760's then at least I could save my patches and
not have to use the old floppies. I can still load patches from my CD
sample disks but I can also load them into Halion now.
There is a difference in the sound and not all performance parameters
are loaded into Halion, so it takes some tweaking. The 760s are easier
to take on the road (without a monitor at any rate) but I may be getting
a MacBook so this will also solve that problem...
Might be sacrelidge here, but I must admit that the power of VST beats
the hardware approach.

I've had this same exact problem. For a while I could get it going by
jiggling the part of the mouse that plugs into the sampler, just winding
the end of the cord and pushing it in a circular motion into the socket,
but eventually no go. I had to have it serviced.
Ironically they brought it back and said "it's fixed!" even though it
was in exactly the same condition. I took it back to the same store,
plugged it in and showed the guy they didn't do a thing. They did take
it back and fix it for free. If possible, ALWAYS check out the fix
while you're at the store.

with the S550 mice, but nothing else.
Is my problem an incompatible mouse or a BAD mouse port on my sampler?
