Hello @ all,
thank you for your help, i have found why my import was not succesfull from w30 to s760,
so now it is working like i expected it :-)
So now here is my question regarding Sounddiver (V3.054) and S760 (V 2.24) communication:
My Hardware-config is like this:
PC (WinXP), EgoSys WamiRack24, S760.
Sounddiver is working well under XP, and two other Synths (Emu Morpheus / Roland U220) are
running good with Sounddiver/WamiRack24.
Just the S760 has got the prob, that it will not communicate with Sounddiver.
That means: It is not found with the "Scanning"-Function. When i setup this
"Manually", then S760 has a little "flashing" with the MIDI-LED, but
Sounddiver told me "Machine is not Plugged / is not found".
Device-ID is checked, SysexData will be recognized, MIDI-Chanel is checked, cable is ok.
Has anybody an Idea, how to get S760 running with Sounddiver? Have i forgot to look in a
specialy Parameter in S760 or Sounddiver?
Thank you for yor Help,
Oliver from Germany

Hi Folks,
I pushed up my machinepark with a S760 sampler, with 32mb and OP-760,
running OS V2.24
My old W30 goes now in retirement pension.
So my question goes to the following: I have read something about to
import W30 Disks into S760.
Will this functionality only supports the Waves of W30, or is it possible
to import the completely Patches with all parameters?
Other Question goes to the SCSII Drive:
I have a 2160 MB Drive. Is there a chance, to use the rest of the MBs, or
is it just the way, to use the first 600 MB and no else?
Thanx for your comments,
with regards
Oliver from germany

First 600mb only.
Maybe you could create another volume on it somehow - not sure - but
each is only 600mb

I can only speak for S-330, but I guess w30 is pretty much the same.
Yes, it does import the parameters too. Here's a posting of mine on
this group about ten years ago :-)
It can read S-550, S-330 and W-30 disks,
that's why I got my S-760
back
then (had some boxes full of those disks). But IMHO it doesn't this
job
too well: if there are two Tones layered in a S-330 Patch, *two* S-760
Patches are created. And, since the S-760 has no Sub-Tones, each
Sub-Tone is converted into a real Sample/Partial. If the Start/Loop/
End
points of the Original Tone and Sub-Tone are the same, this could be
done more memory-efficiently.
Don't know about S-50 disks, the User's Manual doesn't mention it. But
with a S-330 or S-550 these disks can be converted to S-330/S-550
format. Wasn't there a DOS program that does this too?
Also note that the S-330 has more flexible envelopes than the S-760.
Keep your W30 at least until you have all your disks converted, so if
in doubt you can compare.
Ingo
