Roland .out files (or whatever it needs to be).
I know Translator's S-7xx support has been a mythical unicorn
Really.... really? =) No, it's very real. (Ah, gotta love that Internet.)
so does it still not work?
It's always worked. Most importantly, it works right now. Why don't
you try it in Translator Free? You can do one conversion.
Plus, you are always free to contact Chicken Systems and ask them.
I'm sure they'd either like to know if it doesn't work, or they would
give you the direct answer. Have you done this?
->S-7x support has been in Translator Windows for many years.
Translator Mac is just getting it (I think it's in now, just waiting
for the next build release).
I just tried a couple SoundFonts, converting to S-7x ZipDisk. Works
great, loads into the S-7x fine, sounds great.
You may also be interested in Chicken Systems Constructor, available
in both Mac and Windows flavors. You can build Instruments from
scratch on your computer. Once you are done, you can save it to a
S-7x media, either a SCSI hard drive, ZipDisk, or a Virtual Drive
that you can burn to a CD, and have the S-7x read it.
->S-7x is not in Constructor currently (many other formats are), but
it's going in this week.
While I'm at it, there is now Instrument Manager, a new program from
Chicken Systems that can archive and manage all your Instruments, of
any format, whether it be S-7x, Kontakt, Giga, or anything. Database
the Instruments and add tags or any other search criteria. It's sort
of like iTunes for Sampler Instruments.
