I didn't understand you at first, but now I get it. I just started up
the S550 with the "1" key pressed down, and that gave the front panel
control back. Thanks!

Hello all,
Just acquired an S-50 keyboard and it has a slight problem I hope someone
could help with, or at least as heard what mine is doing.
All output is static and garbled. Sometimes, it sounds "clean", but usually
it produces a noisy output. Tried different cables, speakers, headphones,
all the same results. Tried several patch disks, same result.
Tried cleaning the jacks, no change. The sound is static across all outputs.
The keys itself work, as I hooked it up via MIDI to another module, and had
no problems.
Again, sometimes (randomly), I will get a clean sound. I have not been able
to reproduce it consistently.
Has anyone had a similar experience, and what did you do (if anything) to
fix? I know it is a 20 year old synth, I'm just hoping to breath some life
into it. I had an S-10 years ago, and loved it.

I'm looking for some decent small sized string sections to accompany my
Piano samples.
I have a copy of the SP_SV01 which has a Yamaha C7 Piano which sounds great.
Anyone have any suggestions for a quick and dirty solution?
I dont care too much about 'Quality' as the S760 sampler has all the F
cutoffs and adjustments to make anything sound nice. I do like Patches which
are about 3-5MBs in size. It allows you to fit a lot onto one volume so when
you gig you can have everything on a single volume.

Hi guys,
I was wondering how I can get some 'reverb' for my square wave, at the
moment it sounds quite 'in your face' due to no reverb, I do make the TVA
release time a bit longer so it 'fades' out, but what is a method, or your
method of getting effects such as reverb on top of your sounds?

Oh, I see, it's quite strange.
the smt velocity does not control the actual velocity of the note,
(the Note on still does), but sometimes you can have a multi velocity
partial which has say 4 samples which chop the Velocity up into
sections.
Partial #1
Sample 1 = 1->40
Sample 2 = 30->60
Sample 3 = 50 -> 100
Sample 4 = 90 -> 127
Note how the samples overlap so we can use the crossfades.
When a Note On is received, the partial must know the Velocity so it
knows which samples to trigger. If the SMT is set to say a CC#2 and
SMT Velocity Control is set to off, then the value of CC#2 will
determine the Velocity.
However the Velocity of the Note on will still determine how loud the
samples sound.
Though, on the otherhand, if the SMT velocity control is set to On (or
Note ON controlled), then the incoming Note On velocities are used to
determine which velocity section of the partial to trigger.

I'm having trouble understanding what this parameter does. There's a
SMT Velocity Control
I know the Velocity is controlled by the Note On Data 3 byte, but when
the SMT Vel Control is set to Off, and the the Patch Has it's SMT
Control Selection set to Ctrl Change, and the Ctrl Sel is set to #30,
shouldn't the CC#30 control the velocity of the Resulting SMT / Note
Ons?
So the Value of CC#30 controls the velocity and not the Note Ons?
It doesn't seem to be working for me... and this is testing under the
performance tab.
Am I missing something here?

I can't fairly judge Kontact since I don't own a copy, but I have Structure libraries for the Fantom and Triton, and they fall well short of the JV and Trinity hardware I keep in the rack. I suppose it could have as much (or more) to do with the quality of sampling, but it's true to my ears none-the-less...

Implementation chart, how to add CFDisk to the S760, and much much
more!
Perhaps this is a better way than a Windows Editor mirroring the S760
UI, but for the program to send down MIDI data which Manipulates the
data on the S760.??
