Hello...
I just got a Roland S-50 sampler keyboard, sans any kind of operating
software.
I found the updated OS file, S50V20.out, however I don't know how to get the
S-50 to recognize the disk I put that file on (an ordinary IBM PC 1.44 MB
floppy).
I've tried formatting (right term?) a blank disk using the SDISK app (from
the SGroup site), and then putting the S50V20.out file on it, but to no avail.
Any idea what I should try?
Thanks for your time.

Colin,
as I wrote, there is no open question when it comes to Copyrights.
But would you prevent someone who bought a CD of your
music to sell it to a friend or on Ebay when she thinks she is not
going to hear it again.
Does trading of used CDs have a negative or even positive
impact on your income ?
Thanks,
Franz

I probably didn't hit the right key.
Copyright: In times of cheap, easy and high quality copy mechanisms
open to most people, Copyright is more important than ever. No question.
The original question was on sample exchange or trading.
The idea to disallow me to (re)sell the assets I bought is questionable.
This idea certainly comes from the fear, the seller probably still owns
copies of the media he sold.
I do not have insight in these industries, how much it costs to produce
a sample cd, but I know that the costs of a single copy are very low,
the list prices are pretty high, the street prices (e.g. on ebay) are
in between.
I don't have a clear understanding on these topics, so some sort of
discussion would be fine, but probably doesn't fit into emails.
(Some discussions can already be found in the archives, I think)

Steve sent this to me (probably meant for the list - you can't just
hit <reply> )

It depends on each library. For example, Spectrasonics states:
The licence to use this product is granted for a single user only.
You cannot resell
Metamorphosis as a used product to someone else because this is a
non-transferable license. You cannot electronically transfer or post
these samples
to another person or group of persons over the Internet or place them in a
computer/sampler network to be accessed by multiple users.
In other words, you don't buy the software, or even the samples
themselves. You purchase a licence for yourself only to use the
product.
It can therefore never be re-sold.

Hello to everyone,
I've got a problem and I hope that anyone of you can help me:
I'm looking for a *.mp3 or *.way copy of the W30 Demo Song "...this is
my song for you..." as a gift to a friend of mine who owned a W30 years
ago...
Can anybody help me?
Thanx for your help.
Stefan
Hi folks,
Up on eBay UK is this superb example used only as a reserve machine
in a non-smoking studio. Very little use, hence sparkling bright LCD.
I'm afraid it is collection only from Maidenhead Berkshire UK...about
20 miles West of London ...junction 8 on M4.
The eBay number is 7352990422 and my ebay id is robwilla.
Here's the link ... hope it works!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7352990422
There is NO RESERVE and a start price of 199 GB Pounds.
Loads of extras including manual, mouse, mono monitor, CD drive,
128MB Optical drive and all SCSI cables. Op System floppy and 4 x
128MB Optical disks with mainly percussion and Drum and Bass loops.
I understand it can be used with a ScSI Iomega Zip drive as well.
I also have a colour monitor separately available, but need to find
the connection lead first!
I could be persuaded to deliver in the South East UK area at cost,
but definitely not postage I'm afraid.
Could you direct all emails through eBay messageing system please so
I get the question quickly. If the item doesn't sell on eBay send me
an email...I may sell off ebay later after the close of auction.
Hello Oliver (& hello @ * :-) :-),

Will try that, thanks for the suggestion. Haven't needed something like this before, so far all other kind of stuff worked OK - so I didn't realize this could be required now. Will try, thanks !

Not from Roland... Don't know right out of my head who wrote it - but it's described & to be found here:
http://www.memi.com/makers/hwsw/tips/wav2s550.htmlhttp://www.memi.com/makers/hwsw/downloads/software/s-tools.zip
S-550 only I'm afraid. But since there's something for the S-550 I can't imagine nobody ever wrote something for the S-760. Hope you find something !
Bye / thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter, Hello @ *,
did you ever try to start the Programm in "Windows 98 Compatibility-Modus"?
You know, that you can start old Proggs in that Modus (Windows 95, Windows
98/ME, Windows 2000 Modus) if they are having problems with WinXP?
(Right Mouseclick on Programm, Properties, then choosing your Modus)
Hope this helps,
Btw: is this a orig. Roland Progg, or a third party Program? Is it just for
S550 ? (cause i am searching a S760 Edit Progg)
